JOHNSON, Howard R. “HoJo”
of Horseheads, NY passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the age of 77. He was born on November 11, 1939 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Mott and Erma Palmer Johnson. Howard is also predeceased by his son, Bruce Johnson. He served his country honorably with the US Army Reserve. Howard was retired from Totem Taxi with over 24 years. He was a member of Horseheads American Legion Post #442 and was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Howard is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 24 years, Leona “Lee” Humiston Johnson; children, Kathleen (Mark) Koehler of Horseheads, NY, Anthony Johnson of Pittsburg, PA, Laura Johnson (Mary Brown) of Canandaigua, NY; step-children, Cora Hamilton, Samuel (Jamie) Batrony; grandchildren, Daniel (Landi) Johnson, Nicholas (Halley) Koehler, Casey Wilson, Monique Hamilton, Queneisha Perkins, Nicole Hamilton and Emily Hagan; eight great grandchildren; sister, Maryann Godin of Ormond, FL; brothers-in-law, James (Linda) Negri, Larry (Bonnie) Humiston, Leon (Sheila) Humiston; sisters-in-law, Lana (Shane) Raub, Linda (Bob) Tracey and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Sullivan’s Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11AM for Howard’s Funeral Service.
