Passed away peacefully Sunday morning, August 15, 2010 at Bethany Manor at the age of 93. Annie was born on September 8, 1916 in Nash County, Rocky Mount, NC, a daughter of the late Douglas Scott and Arabella Vick Deans. She was a retired Registered Nurse. Annie was a member of Lake Panasoffkee First United Methodist Church, United Methodist and Womens’ Club, SHARE and PTA, a member of the National Honor Beta Club and the Women’s Bowling Assoc. She is pre-deceased by her loving husband, Percy Lee Ledford and son, Robert L. Ledford and all of her siblings. Survivors include her daughters, Laura (Thomas) Peck of Horseheads, NY, and Sandra L. (Robert) Laux of Thomson, GA; grandchildren, Daniel (Alyssa) Peck, Lisa Peck, Joseph (Donna) Ledford, Thomas Ledford, Allen and David Laux; great grandchildren, Emmaline, Sarah and Addison Peck and Samuel Ledford; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Ledford of Franklin, NC; several nieces, nephews, cousins and “grand-dog”, Daisy. A Memorial Service will be held at Lake Panasoffkee United Methodist Church at a later date. Memorials may be made in Annie’s name to Lake Panasoffkee First United Methodist Church, 589 CR. 470 Lake Panasoffkee, FL 33538. The family would like to acknowledge her friendships with the wonderful staff and residents at Woodbrook. In addition, our thanks for the dedicated care and compassion for mother’s comfort to all the staff during her brief stay at Bethany Manor.
