Cathy Jane Woodward Obituary (1959 - 2012)

WOODWARD, Cathy J. of Horseheads, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2012 at the age of 53. Cathy was born May 8, 1959 in Bath, NY a daughter of Robert and Hope Overholts. She was of graduate of Horseheads High School, SUNY Brockport and Alfred State University and was a pioneer for women while holding several positions with NYDOT. For 29 years Cathy was an IT coordinator in Hornell, worked in construction as a CE-2 and worked in the bridge structure division as a CE-2 and PE in Hornell and lastly as a PE at Tioga County as resident engineer. Cathy was a lover of music and the outdoors as well as an accomplished cook and possessed a keen sense of humor. She is pre-deceased by her, father, Robert Overholts. Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 12 years, Richard L. "Woody" Woodward of Horseheads; children, Amanda Callahan (Paul Martin) of Horseheads, Martin Callahan of Montour Falls; step children, Jeffery Richard Woodward and Beth Marie (Jamie) Deluca; sisters, Gini (Curt) Albertalli of Dresden, Cindy (Tom) Clark of Horseheads, and Lisa Ferguson of Elmira; brothers, Robert (Lisa) Overholts of Zionsville, PA and Scott Overholts of Horseheads; mother, Hope Overholts of Horseheads; step grandson, Xavier Deluca; nephews, Brian (Rebecca) Albertalli, James Albertalli, Matthew (Amanda) Barends, Ben Overholts, Dustin Overholts, Christopher Overholts, and Reggie Ferguson Jr.; nieces, Erica (John) Aikman, Anna Overholts, and Jessica Ferguson; great nephews and great nieces, Owen Albertalli and Cyris and Lulu Albertalli, Austin and Emma Barends, Quinn Ferguson and Stella Aikman and several cousins and friends. It was Cathy's wishes that all services be held privately by the family.
