Charles M. Beechey

BEECHEY, Charles M. of Big Flats passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the age of 87. Charles was born October 15, 1928, a son to the late Morgan and Ellen Johnson Beechey. He was preceded in death by daughter Norah Beechey and his sisters, Helene Tuton, Margaret Gleason and Betty Meadows. Charles is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Mary Elston Beechey; son, Kerwin Beechey of Pittsburgh, PA, daughter, Tegan Beechey (fiance Brian Riley) of Ravenna, OH; brother, Richard (Marian) Beechey of Kettering, OH; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Elston of Elmira, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He served his country honorably during WWII with the US Navy and was employed by Westinghouse and Corning Glass as an engineer. Charles was an artist and also enjoyed projects in and out of the home and church. The family will welcome relatives and friends for visitation at Bethany Lutheran Church, 256 S. Walnut St., Elmira, NY on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 between the hours of 10AM to 11AM. Charles' Funeral Service will follow at 11AM with Rev. Krista Mendosa. He will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
