Christopher M. VanGorden; son, brother, husband, father, PopPop, friend; 54, left this earthly world peacefully though suddenly November 10th, 2022. \n He attended Horseheads High School, where afterwards he became a machinist at Hardinge, Inc for 26 years. Chris, as he was fondly known, loved his friends and family. Chris had a passion for hunting, so much so, he opened his butcher shop doors in 2018. He was a loving husband and father. His family and friends knew him to be be wildly funny, sometimes inappropriately so, but that did not negate his golden heart one bit. \n He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lori (Lor) VanGorden of Erin, N.Y. , his children, as he affectionately called them kiddo; daughter and son-in-law Alissa & Kyle Snyder of Odessa, N.Y; son Andrew VanGorden of Erin, N.Y; grandsons Brycen (5), Owen (4), and Caleb (2); honorary children, Tarra Rea of Montour Falls, N.Y.; Kathrine Halstead, of Horseheads, N.Y.; brother Alan & Trishia VanGorden of Horseheads, N.Y.; father-in-law; Stephen Cole of Erin, N.Y; many nieces, nephews, honorary children, and friends that grew to be family. \n Services will be held Monday, November 14th at Sullivan’s Funeral Home; 365 E. Franklin Street, Horseheads, N.Y. 14845 from 3-4PM. Following, there will be a celebration of life at the Erin Fire Hall, 1464 Swartwood Hill Road, Erin, NY, 14838.
