Debra Sue Hartsock\nElmira, NY\nPassed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer on Wednesday May 5, 2021 at the age of 61. She was born on October 1, 1959, daughter of Gerald and Shirley Goochee Johnston. She is predeceased by her grandparents, Ruth M Hardes and Lillian and Kendall Johnston.\n\nDebra was born in San Jose, California and moved to Horseheads, New York in 1975. She graduated from Horseheads High School in 1978 and was employed at Westinghouse IST in Horseheads, NY from 1979 to 2006. She was later employed at Surface Finish in Elmira, NY as a process technician since 2006. She was also an avid animal lover, and enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, and had a fascination with the paranormal arts. \n\nDebra is survived by her parents, Shirley and Gerald Johnston; her brother, Jerry Johnston of Almond, NY; her children Michael "Mikey" Johnston of Corning, NY; Tiffany Mae Hartsock of Lancaster, MN; and Nicole "Nikki" Hartsock of Horseheads, NY; she is also survived by her grandchildren Jada, Jenna, and Madison, her furry friends "Shilo" and "Black Kitty", and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.\n\nThe family welcomes your condolences at this time but services will be held privately.
