Donald Ralph Hollenbeck \nErin, NY\n\nPassed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at the age of 74. Don was born March 6, 1947 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Ralph Burton Hollenbeck and Thelma Evelyn Hall of Horseheads, NY. He is predeceased by his first wife of 47 years, Sylvia Elizabeth Hollenbeck, their furry companion of 17 years, Paddy Cake, and his younger brother Richard B. Hollenbeck. \n\nHe is survived by his loving wife of one year, Yvonne Paquin Hollenbeck; daughter Shannon and grand kids, Michael, Tawni Shae' and Dakota; son Ian and his "favorite daughter-in-law" Diane, and grand daughter Maggie Paige. He is also survived by great grandchildren Bentley, Emma Leigh, Liam, Benjamin, Xander and Christian; sister and brother-in-law, Linda (Bob) Evans of Seminole FL; baby brother, Steve (Diane) Hollenbeck of Largo FL; sister-in-law, Baby Rose (Glodoviza) Hollenbeck of Ohio, and 7 nieces and nephews.\n\nDon was an avid motorcycle rider and was involved with the Legion Riders and multiple functions. He hand built two of the homes they raised their family in. He was a Mold Maker/ Pattern Maker/ Machinist for over 40 years, until he retired from Anchor Glass in Elmira Heights. He worked at a local Honda shop out of high school and got hooked on riding various bikes, including riding trail bikes, building VW trikes with longtime friend Charlie (and Liz), to building and riding custom choppers and various other road bikes ever since. Don also enjoyed watching NASCAR and endurance auto racing. Later in his life he enjoyed the more laid-back lifestyle of motorcycle excursions with their friends Darryl and Rosa, tinkering on various mechanical equipment, camping in the motorhome and enjoying a Coors Light by the campfire, and during the down time binge-watching shows on Netflix with his new wife Yvonne. Don was a hard working man, and a great husband and father. \n\nThe family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home at 365 East Franklin Street, Horseheads, New York on Saturday, December 11th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a celebration of life to follow at the Horseheads American Legion Post, 442 Old Ithaca Road in Horseheads. He will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family.\n\nIn lieu of flowers those wishing to remember Don may make donations to American Legion Bentley Trumbull unit 442, 71 old Ithaca Road, P.O. Box 420 Horseheads, NY 14845 in his memory.
