Dorothy A. Hallenbeck\nElmira Heights, NY\n\nPassed away on Thursday, December 15, 2021 after a short illness at the age of 91.\nDorothy was born May 4, 1930, the daughter of the late George and Mable Allington Clearwater. She was also pre-deceased by all her seven siblings. Dorothy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 68 years, Roger Hallenbeck; children, Patti (Mark) Lewis; Paul Hallenbeck; Penny Hallenbeck; and several extended family members and a host of friends. Dorothy worked at Hardinge Brothers for 19 years. She enjoyed playing on their women's softball team and bowling league. But what she enjoyed most was hanging out with her "Gal Pals" from work to attend monthly dinners and banquets provided by the company. After retiring, Dorothy enjoyed reading, challenging herself with word puzzles and scouting for antiques and bargains at weekly rummage sales. She also had a passion for her favorite treat - peanut butter fudge. The family welcomes your thoughts and prayers at this time but services will be held privately. She will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery.
