Edward Boyd "Boyd" MacRoberts Jr. Obituary (1929 - 2014)

MAC ROBERTS, Edward "Boyd" of Horseheads, NY passed away on Sunday morning, September 7, 2014 at the age of 85. He was born in Chicago, Ill on March 4, 1929, a son of the late Edward B. and Elma H. MacRoberts. He was also predeceased his son, Mark and his siblings, Ruth, Eleanor and William. Boyd is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor Glazier MacRoberts; sons, Joseph Fantacone of Elmira, NY, David E. (Dana) MacRoberts; daughters, Lee (David) Mouch, and Ann Glasson all of Texas, and Robin (Keith) Muschalek of Virginia; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren; an aunt; and several nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and his feline friend, Lamb-chop.Boyd was a sales representative for the Diversey Wyandotte Corp. where he retired in 1996. He also served his country honorably with the USMC for 16 years and was an active volunteer at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center since his retirement. He was a huge collector of Santa's and was very proud of his workshop El/Bo Handcrafts, where he turned out many beautiful projects seen around our area. Boyd enjoyed his time with his loving wife Eleanor, traveling to visit the children and grandchildren and sitting on the patio watching the birds and feeding the many cats that have been "dropped off". He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Elmira and was an avid reader and enjoyed books. Relatives and friends are invited to a Gravesite Service at Maple Grove Cemetery on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 1PM with Full Military Honors.
