LIFE LONG EDUCATOR\nPeacefully passed away on October 25, 2013 at the age of 82. He was born in Amsterdam, NY on February 8, 1931, the son of the late Dominick and Theresa Manginelli (DiChira). He was predeceased by his brothers, Nicholas, Arthur, and Ralph. He will be dearly missed by his beautiful wife Barbara of 54 years. Survived by his son Edward (Sheila) of Tonawanda, NY; daughters Anne (William) Yessman of Odessa, NY, Linda (William) Naill of Valrico, Fl, Susan (William) Phillips of Elmira, NY, and Catherine Manginelli (William Krug) of Old Bridge, NJ. Adored by 7 grandchildren; Andrew, Allison, Michelle, Matthew, Jonathan, Byron, and his princess Kaitlyn. He is also survived by his brother in law Dennis (Linda)Squires of Waverly, NY and "special" Aunt Fran Fox along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a member of the American Legion and well known educator in the Elmira City School District for over 30 years and coached several sports, wrestling being his passion. He was known as "Ed-Man" in the local broadcasting area. Ed was an avid gardener, loyal Yankees Fan and enjoyed spending time at Seneca Lake on his Cabin Cruiser with his family and was a communicate of St. Mary our Mother Church. Friends and family will be received at the Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 East Franklin St., at Rt. 13 Horseheads, NY on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, from 4-6pm. Ed's Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 30th at 10am with Full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The American Heart Association.
