Passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024 at the age of 80. He was born June 7th, 1944 in Elmira, New York to the late Henry and Kathryn Moonschein. He was predeceased by his parents, as well as his brothers Henry and George Moonschein, and sister Wanda Moonschein.

Ed graduated from Horseheads High School in 1962 and served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Germany for four years. After his military service, he attended Corning Community College and the University at Buffalo. He retired after a long career as a mail handler and enjoyed bargain hunting at rummage sales. He was also an avid golfer, and loved to go fishing with his son. He was very big on Christmas celebrations and was known to go overboard at times. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather.

The family welcomes your condolences at this time, but it was Ed’s wishes that his funeral service would be held privately. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 7 from noon to 4pm at the Horseheads Elks Lodge, located at 6 Prospect Hill Road, Horseheads, NY, 14845. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
