Edwin Gonzalez

Edwin C. Gonzalez of Horseheads, NY passed away on April 15, 2023. He was born in the Bronx, NY on November 15, 1952 to Santos Confesor Gonzalez and Genoveva Acevedo.
Ed graduated from Morris High School and Manhattan College of the Bronx, NY.
He retired from the New York State Park Police, Finger Lakes Region, as a Sergeant after 37 years of dedicated service.
Ed was a volunteer and long-term Board Member of Cops, Kids and Toys of Tompkins County and a long-time volunteer at the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.
He loved watching the Yankees and Giants, and enjoyed salt water fishing and playing volleyball. He hated the Cuomos, both father and son.
Ed is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters Elizabeth of Hillsboro, Oregon and Stephanie of Las Vegas, Nevada; siblings Michael (Susan) Gonzalez of Elmira and Ivette Gonzalez of Winter Park, Florida. He is also survived by many in-laws, out-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from coast to coast.
We would like to thank Dr. Dauphin and staff of the Falck Cancer Center and Dr. Brea Lipe and her Multiple Myeloma team at Wilmot Cancer Center, University of Rochester Medical Center, for their care over the last 4 years. A special thanks to nephew, Adrian Gonzalez, for helping us navigate his disease.
