Elaine J. Maslar Obituary (1944 - 2015)

Maslar, Elaine J Age 70, of Horsheads, NY passed away on August 14th, 2015 after an illness. Elaine was born on September 17, 1944 in Wilkes-Barre (Hanover Township), PA to Albert and Jule (Bigus) Levandoski. Predeceased by her parents and daughter Megan, she is survived by her daughter, Angela Maslar of Horseheads. She was an elementary school teacher in PA and NJ, Teacher of the Blind and Visually Impaired at GST BOCES in NY, and also worked with Steuben County Special Children's Services. She was a devoted member of St. Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, Ladies of Charity, (associate) member of Marian Movement of Priests, Cursillo, and Third Order Dominicans. Elaine also volunteered at the Horseheads Food Pantry. Calling hours will be at Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin Street, Rte 13, Horseheads, NY from 9:30am to 11:30am on Monday, August 17th, 2015. Rosary will begin at 11:00 at SMOM with a funeral mass following at 12. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to St. Mary Our Mother Church or the Samaritan Center in Elmira.
