VONDERCHEK, Elizabeth H. Parker, \nof Horseheads died Monday, March 28, 2011, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira. She was 71. Betty treasured her family and friends above all; she will be missed beyond words. She was a retired rural letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Elmira, and an accomplished seamstress and horsewoman. For many years, she owned Vonderosa Arabians in Horseheads and ran the Hilltop Riders 4-H Club. Betty was the daughter of the late Donald and Leah Parker of Canton, Pa., and she was a 1958 graduate of Canton High School. She loved Polka, Country and of course Trans-Siberian Orchestra Music! She is survived by her longtime best friend and partner, Dale F. Plate of Horseheads; sons Allyn Vonderchek (Annie-Laurie Blair) of Cincinnati, Scott Vonderchek (Monica Rundell) of Elmira Heights, and close friend Richard Nash (James Brandeberry) of Oldwick, N.J.; Dale's son, Jeff (Cathy) Plate of Horseheads and son-in-law, Bill Tarr (Kathy Colony) of Horseheads; three granddaughters, Keisha, Rebecca and Hailey Vonderchek; three grandsons, Blair Vonderchek, Jeffrey and Bradley Tarr; four nieces and a nephew; and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Donna Hartford and Sharon Raczkowski Hamm; Dale's daughter, Terry Plate Tarr; and a nephew. Visiting hours will be at Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 East Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday, April 2, 2011 followed by a Memorial Service.
