Ernest R. "Ernie" Heyworth Obituary (1937 - 2017)

HEYWORTH, Ernest R. "Ernie" of Horseheads, NY passed quietly on October 10, 2017 at the age of 80. Ernie was born August 1, 1937 in Weymouth, MA, son of the late Raymond and Margaret Hurry Heyworth. Ernest served his country honorably with the US Army. He retired as a packaging engineer. He was predeceased by his brothers, Paul (Myrna) and Bill (Elaine). He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley Patton Heyworth; daughters, Jennifer (John) Trimber and Amy (Andy) Sopchak; grandchildren, Rachael (Richard), David (Amy), Elizabeth (Carlos), Gillian, Emily, Anastasia, and Andrew; seven great grandchildren; brother, John (Lynn) Heyworth; and other extended family members. Ernie enjoyed flying model airplanes, sailing, building boats and loved his family. The family will welcome relative and friends to Ernie's Memorial Service and a time of sharing at the Big Flats American Legion Post 1612, 45 Olcott Rd South, Big Flats, NY on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 2 - 4 PM.
