Francis L. "Spanky" Langlois Obituary (1959 - 2013)

of Horseheads, NY and formerly of Trumansburg went to be with the LORD after a long extended illness on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the age of 53. Francis was born November 23, 1959 in Ithaca, NY, a son of Raymond and Betty VanHouten Langlois. He is predeceased by his father, Raymond. Francis is survived by his family; mother, Betty Langlois of Bethany Manor, Horseheads, sister, Nancy (Paul) Telech of Horseheads; brother, Raymond ( Lisa) Langlois of Trumansburg, sister, Linda (Brian) Harding of Jersey Shore, PA; one uncle, Dale Wallenbeck of Harrisburg, VA; nephews and niece, Stephen Telech, Daniel Hoyles, Adam Langlois and Ashley Harding and several cousins. Francis graduated from Trumansburg High School and was employed as a certified painter and decorator. He belonged to Local Union #178 in Ithaca. He moved to Kentucky where he worked for 15 years before his illness brought him back to NY. Francis was an avid Syracuse Basketball fan and loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He is already missed by all that knew and loved him. Nancy and Paul wish to express their gratitude to the staff of CareFirst, Dr. Roberto Mauri, Stephanie Bush and staff, St. Joseph's Hospital staff who have cared for Francis for the last 8 years, the Chemung County Nursing staff, Strong Memorial Hospital, Jessica Chaffee, and Doug and Sylvia Barchett. The family will welcome relatives and friends to calling hours at St. Mary Our Mother Church, 816 W. Broad St., Horseheads, NY on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 10am to 11am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow with Rev. Christopher Linsler. Burial will take place at St. James Cemetery, Trumansburg at the convenience of the family. "Frank lived a life with a child like acceptance. His sense of innocence allowed him to live through his illness with an acceptance and willingness to do all that he could.
