Glenn Carter Coats \nHorseheads, NY\nPassed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the age of 63. Glenn was born on June 3, 1958 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late William and Ida May Yontz Coats. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Sonny “Allen”, Ronald and Robert “Bob” Coats. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Ann Scriven Coats; children, William “Will” Coats, and Elizabeth “Liz” Coats; grandchildren Duane, Claire and one on the way; brother, Wayne Coats and sister, Carolyn Drew; grandmother-in-law Waltraud Scriven; mother-in-law Paula Love; brother-in-law James (Tina) Scriven; sisters-in-law Diane (Steve) Taylor, Mary Ann (Tim) Cleary and Pam (Mark) Kent; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and a host of friends, especially Brian Thom and Neil “Shorty” Scriven. Glenn retired from the Town of Catlin after 18 years in the Highway Dept. He graduated from Horseheads High School and loved to fish, hunt, and bowl. Everyone knew where Glenn was by his laugh. Working hard and being outside all the time gardening, cutting wood and mowing the yard was a corner stone in his life. Nothing made Glenn happier than being with his family and celebrating life’s milestones. The family will welcome your thoughts and prayers at this time but services will be held at a later date.
