Kathryn V. "Kay" Jacobson Obituary (1916 - 2011)

JACOBSON, KATHRYN V. "KAY" Of Horseheads, NY and formerly of Pittsburg, PA passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Appleridge Senior Living with her loving family and friends by her side at the age of 95. Kay was born April 2, 1916 in Cleveland, OH a daughter of the late Mark D. and Kathryn Kelly Unkefer. She had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest. Kay loved to travel and was an entrepreneur, business owner of a beauty shop, hot dog stand and an office supply store but her paycheck came as an accountant. Kay is survived by her daughter, Judith (Ronald) Ratcliffe of Corning, NY; granddaughter, Lynne (Matt Coffey) Kiesling of Chicago, IL; favorite nephew, Ron Unkefer of Texas; beloved companion Richard Myers of Horseheads; and her loving and devoted "family of healthcare providers."The family will welcome relatives and friends to Kay's Celebration of Life at Appleridge Senior Living, 168 Miller St., Horseheads, NY on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 10:00AM with Chaplin Meredith Tifft. The family respectfully requests that memorials be made in Kay's name to Southern Tier Hospice and Palliative Care, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830.
