Golos, Loda\n\nAge 90, of Elmira, NY, died peacefully on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Loda's last days were filled with love and visits from family and friends. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on February 2, 1928 to the late Bella (Aldort) and Jack Passer. Loda was married to the late Abraham Golos, Attorney and Rabbi, of Elmira, for 49 years. Loda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Marc and Sharon Greenberg of Ohio; her daughters, Anita Mayer of Elmira and Cindy Golos of Virginia; grandchildren Joel and April Greenberg, Aaron and Breanne Greenberg, Rachel Greenberg, Geoff and Rena Terwilliger, and Ryan Mayer; great grandchildren Malakai Greenberg, Phoebe Greenberg, Zoe Greenberg, Griffin Terwilliger, Isabella Terwilliger, and Dexter and Miasia Hayes; great great grandchild Mahkai Hayes; and her brother and sister-in-law, Morris and Patricia Passer of Ohio. Well known and loved in this community, Loda taught Hebrew School at Congregation Kol Ami, and its predecessor, Shomray Hadath, for 30 years. Her love of service in support of Jewish life and values earned Loda and her husband the Herman Salsburg Award from Congregation Kol Ami in 2017. Following her retirement, Loda continued to teach Hebrew in her home to many interested people, both Jewish and Christian, in the Elmira community.
