Marion L. O'Bryan Obituary (1928 - 2013)

of Horseheads, NY passed away peacefully Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the age of 85. Marion was born July 30, 1928 in Milan, PA a daughter of the late Warren and Cecilia Stanton Loan. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Robert; sister, Marguerite; brothers, Francis and Robert. She is survived by her children, Lucille (Leonard) Boughton, of Big Flats, NY, Francine O'Bryan of Perrysburg, OH, Kathleen (David) Karam of Rochester, NY, Robert D. (Julie) O'Bryan of Cleveland, OH and Carolyn (Robert) Sweeney of Springfield, IL; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, numerous extended relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is also survived by her beloved Dachshund "Mickey". With her children grown, she put herself through cosmetology school and later retired after many years from Bethany as a switchboard operator. She belonged to the ladies A.O.H. and was a lifelong communicate of St. Mary Our Mother Church and worked for many years as a election official. Marion also taught herself how to play piano and loved to attend shows at the Clemens Center. The family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY on Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 5-8pm. with a prayer service at 7:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Our Mother Church, 816 W. Broad St., Horseheads, NY on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 9:30am. Marion will be laid to rest at St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery alongside her husband at the convenience of the family.
