LOWMAN, MARTIN JR. "Marty"\nOf Horseheads, NY passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, January 30, 2012 at Corning Hospital at the age of 65. Marty was born December 20, 1946 a son of Martin Sr. and Alberta Evans Lowman. He was a member of the US Army and served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. Marty was very active in HHDS Babe Ruth Baseball and coached for over 23 years. He was an avid NY Giants, Mets and Rangers fan and enjoyed traveling to VT yearly with Sheila. Marty is survived by his loving companion of 18 years, Sheila Cowles; devoted sisters, Patty (Jerry) Borden with whom he resided, Gerry (Clair) Bixby; children; Tammy, Tommy, Timmy, Michael, and Kevin; several grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also surviving are his compassionate friends Millie Eno and family and Ed and Nancy Curry. Marty is pre-deceased by his parents and brother-in-law, Donald Palmer. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, February 4, 2012 from 12-4PM at Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY. Marty's Memorial Service will be held immediately following at 4PM with Military Honors. Private family interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
