MaryLee Williams\nHorseheads, NY\n Passed away at home January 23, 2021 at the age of 69. MaryLee was born on May 5, 1951 in Cortland, NY. MaryLee was adopted as an infant by the late Joseph and Willie Mae (Hardin) Along. She is predeceased by her husband, James Williams and son-in-law Daniel Uhler. MaryLee is survived by her two children, Philip Williams and Valerie Uhler, grandchildren, Gabriel And Brody Williams, brother, Michael (Barbara) Along, sister, Jackie Carr, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. MaryLee traveled the world with her family. She lived in many places including, Germany, Turkey, Texas, Hawaii, and Colorado. She graduated from Cortland High School in 1969 and went on to attend college at New York State College at Buffalo and SUNY Cortland where she majored in elementary education. She retired from Horseheads Central School District as a teachers assistant. MaryLee loved working with the students and cherished the relationships she built with them over the years. She was fascinated by Alaska and was able to visit there with her husband after they retired. MaryLee loved to read and write and authored a book about adoption. She also enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, and spending time with her family and her dogs. The family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13 Horseheads, NY on Sunday January 31 from 1PM-3PM with her funeral service to follow. MaryLee will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery at the convenience of her family.
