Michael E. DeMark Sr. Obituary (1933 - 2012)

age 79, of Elmira, NY passed away peacefully Thursday, September 27, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Michael was born March 9, 1933 in Elmira, NY a son of the late John and Velma Smith DeMark. He was a graduate of Southside High School and was employed with Loblaws (Great American) for over 40 years. He is pre-deceased by his wife, Ann DeMark, sister Gloria Wandell and brother Donald DeMark. Michael is survived by his two children, Joy (Rick) Wieder of Erin, NY and son, Michael DeMark Jr. of Horseheads, NY; sister, Irene Johnson of Elmira, NY; brother, John (Betty) DeMark of Fayetteville, NC; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, beloved pet and companion Scooby and a host of friends. Michael was beloved by his family and friends and all who knew him. The family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY on Monday October 1, 2012 from 11AM-1PM with his Funeral Service to follow with the Dr. Rev. David Sullivan officiating. He will be laid to rest alongside his wife at St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery immediately following.
