NIGRO, Nancye I. "Nan"
Long time resident of Horseheads, NY passed away Saturday evening, August 20, 2011, following a brief illness. Daughter of the late Eugene and Nannie Cox McCrary. Nan was born on September 6, 1924 in Durham, NC. She was predeceased by her husband Richard Nigro. Nan spent much of her life at home with her cats and her grand kids. Nan is survived by her sons, Lawrence (Michelle) Nigro of Horseheads, NY and Steven Nigro of Florida. She is also survived by grandchildren; Ryan, Celeste, Melissa, Amanda, Christina, Michael and Christopher; six great grandchildren; brother, Thomas McCrary of Cottageville, SC; and sister, Elizabeth Stafford of Falls Church, VA. Per Nan's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2011 at 1PM at Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY. Burial in Bath National Cemetery beside her husband Richard will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her honor to Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA, State Route 352, Elmira, NY 14903.
