Nicholas "Ronnie" R. Boulas Sr. \nHorseheads, NY\n\nPassed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the age of 82. Nick was born on January 27, in Dubois, PA, the son of the late Nicholas and Mary Ogershok Boulas. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his in-law, Roswald and Anna Viele, brother-in-laws, John Viele and nephew Randy J. Viele. \n\nHe is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Anna M. Viele Boulas; daughter, Mary (Mike) Parsons and their children, Christopher (Kayla) and Jamie; son, Nicholas (JoAnne) Boulas Jr. and their daughter, Danielle (Steven); daughter, Suzette Boulas and son Brandon (Amanda); and daughter, Diana (Dan) Hauman and their sons, Joshua and Nicholas; great grandchildren, Marin, Abagail, Olivia, Jonathan and Levi; step great grandchildren, Joseph, Destiny and Leo; brothers, Leonard Boulas, John (Donna) Boulas; special Godchild John Randy Viele and several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and a host of friends. \n\nNick worked for years for his family at Nick's Restaurant. He eventually worked for and retired from Southport Correctional facility in September 2004. Nick loved playing cards, spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, and his many trips to the grocery stores, where everyone seemed to know his name. He was kind and generous and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Nick courageously battled dementia for the last 12 years. Although he wasn't always himself , glimmers of the "old" Nick did shine through from time to time and his family will always hold those memories dear.\n\nThe family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY 14845 on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 5-7PM. Nick's Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Church, Elmira, NY on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11AM. No flower donations please.\n\nThose wishing to remember Nick please consider donations in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, the Alzheimer's Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY, 14620, or a charity of one's choice in Nick's memory.
