SPENCER, Norman E. \nOf Horseheads, went to be with his Lord after a short illness. He passed, surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at the age of 86. Norman was born September 17, 1930, in Canton, PA, a son of the late Myron and Daisy Bastion Spencer. He is survived by his loving children: Sandra Hall, John Spencer and fiance Erlyn, Karen (David) Currey and Cheryl DeSarno; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; brother, Seward Spencer; sister, Dorothy Pine; several extended family members and a host of caring friends. He is predeceased by his brothers Leland and Donald and son-in-law, Leland Hall. Norman served his country honorably with the US Army in Fairbanks, AK, during the Korean War and worked at Clute Motors as a mechanic. The family welcomes relatives and friends at his church, Pine Valley Baptist Church, 4872 Pinecrest Rd., Millport, NY, on Monday, January 2, 2017, from 1-3 pm. Norman's Funeral Service with military honors will held immediately following at 3 pm with his friend Pastor Dan McCarthy, Sr. He will be laid to rest at the convenience of his family.
