Phyllis Jane Garrabrant (Blodgett) \nRoanoke, VA\nThe daughter of Josephine (Holcomb) and Albert Blodgett sadly left this world on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in Roanoke, VA. Everyone who knew Phyllis knows she lived her life with love and laughter. She was happiest with friends and family. She never met a stranger! Born on Dec. 4, 1922 in Gillette, Pa., she later moved to Elmira, NY where she met Arlie Garrabrant. They were married on July 16, 1945 and honeymooned at Dunn Field. Phyllis was a die hard New York Yankee Fan who loved Derek Jeter and Lou Gehrig. She managed the Triangle Shoe Store for years in downtown Elmira; relocating to F.W. Woolworth in Horseheads where she worked for over 25 years behind the lunch counter. She was preceded in death by her husband (Arlie Sr.), and her sisters Marie Heath (Sam), and JoAnn Blodgett. She is survived by her children Arlie Jr. (Nancy), Candace Boorum, and Barbara Swanson (David); grandchildren: Belinda Green (Dominico), Melissa Andrews (Scott), Peter Garrabrant, Heidi Garrabrant (Hunter), and many loving great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. We all carry with us wonderful memories of her and will miss her dearly. The family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St., at Rt 13, Horseheads, NY on Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 11AM - 1PM with services to follow at 1PM. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Maple Grove Cemetery immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Judes Children Hospital or the Horseheads Fire & Rescue in her memory.
