Richard "Rick" A. Amberg II\nElmira Heights, NY\nPassed away Sunday, November 7, 2021 at the age of 58. Rick was born on May 21, 1963 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Richard and Dianne Opper Amberg. He is survived by his children, Chelsea Lumpkin, Dylan Amberg and Cassie Amberg; brothers, Terry (Gidget) Amberg, Kyle Amberg and several extended family members. Rick will always be remembered for his outgoing and compassionate personality and he touched the lives of many. He was a visionary and knew how to get the job done. He started his career in the food service industry and excelled at restaurant management. He was promoted numerous times and recognized for his leadership skills and ability to maximize profits. After nearly 20 successful years in the food industry, Rick decided to transition his career to construction and general contracting where he owned and operated his business, Improvements, LLC. Rick had an amazing gift of being able to repair anything or put something together perfectly without ever reading the instructions. He always had a solution and there was no problem too big for him. He shared those gifts with many and not only made improvements to their homes, but to their lives as well. Rick was a generous and loving guy with a great sense of humor. He had a tireless work ethic, but he managed to find time to enjoy his hobbies. He had a passion for classic cars and he enjoyed restoring cars and attending car shows. He loved classic rock music, cruising around the lakes, and going to concerts. Anyone that knew Rick would say that talking with him left them feeling better. He had a knack for putting people's minds at ease and taking care of the problems. He always had wisdom to share and would add in a good dose of humor along with it. He loved to laugh, but always took things to heart. He was loved by many and his compassion and generosity will not be forgotten.
