DRUM, Richard J. "Dick" Alpine, NY and Ovid, NY passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the age of 88. Dick was born December 17, 1928, a son to Jacob and Madeline Drum. He served his country honorably with the US Army and was a retired welder at Shepard Niles in Montour Falls. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary R. Drum and son-in-law, Tod Oaks. Dick is survived by his children, Beverly Rhynehart (Steve Brown), Catherine "Kitty" (Edward "Skip") Orcutt, Lisa "Ricki" Oaks, Richard "Dicky" (Meredith) Drum, grandchildren, Robert, Mandy, Alecia, Allyson, Holden, Jacob, and Aidan; great grandchildren, Michelle, and Bryce; friend and fellow artist Sandy, and also many friends and fellow Veterans in Montour Falls, Odessa and Ovid. Richard was a man of many talents. He was an accomplished artist, owning his own studio, "Drums Along East Seneca" in Ovid, NY. He was also an author, and avid outdoorsman, spending many days camping, trapping, fishing and hunting, from the Adirondacks Mts. to Alaska. He raised his family and lived on Swamp Road in Alpine for over 50 years. He even built his own log cabin on Steam Mill Road in Odessa, NY. The family will welcome relatives and friends to Dick's Gravesite Service at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Odessa, NY on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 1 PM.
