Robert William Baumgartner ("Bob")\nElmira, NY \nPassed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at the age of 92. He was born on March 31, 1928 ("one more day and I would have been an April Fools Baby") in West Milton, PA, son of the late Kenneth and Martha Heywood Baumgartner. Bob honorably served his country with having served 20 years in the US Navy ("and I couldn't swim a stroke") and worked at A&P and the Elmira Correctional Facility after his retirement from the Navy. Bob is also predeceased by his wife of 60 years in 2014, Betty Jane Baumgartner; granddaughter, Jaimee; great-grandchildren, William and Marion; brother, Harold; sister, Twila Zimmerman; and a brother and sister who died in infancy/childhood. He is survived by his children, Vicki Sprague of Wichita, KS, Robert W. (JoyAnn) Baumgartner II of Henrietta, NY, Carol (Arthur) Huftalen of Bradenton, FL, Karen Baumgartner of Henrietta, NY, and John (Sandy) Baumgartner of Breesport, NY; grandchildren, David II (Gabrielle), Heather, Carrie Mae (Joseph), Robert W. III "Willie", John Jr. (Nicole), and Katie (Michael); great-grandchildren, Ryan, Nicholas, Zachary, Annabelle, Kaiden, Zoey, Brielle and Hannah; brother, Jack (June) Baumgartner; sisters, Ida (Philip) Beard, Virgie Matheny and Mildred Austin; and extended family members including several nieces and nephews.
