SHERMAN, Robert "Bob" D.

Age 59 of Elmira Heights, NY passed away at Arnot Ogden after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 14, 2011. Bob was born September 13,1951, to Marion Robert and Lola (Brown) Sherman. He worked at Schweitzer Aircraft for 23 years and was a proud member of the UAW Local 1752. Bob previously worked at Thatchers Glass and did tile work with his father and uncle. When not working, Bob enjoyed spending time at home with his family, taking care of his yard, washing the cars and "worshiping" the sun. Bob was pre-deceased by his father, Marion Robert Sherman and granddaughter Bella Marie Barber. Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Debra (Casbeer) Sherman; daughter, Andrea (Duston) Barber; sons, Brett and Gregory Sherman (Stephanie Adams); grandchildren, Jared and Brianna Barber; mother, Lola Sherman; uncle, C. Rollin Sherman and several cousins. The family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 4PM and 7PM. Bob's Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 11AM with Deacon William Dougherty. Bob will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in the family plot immediately following. Memorials may be made in Bob's memory to Southern Tier Hospice and Palliative Care, 11751 East Corning Road, Corning, NY 14830.
