Ronald K. (Ron) Moore\nHorseheads, NY\n\nOn Monday, May 1, 2023, Ron went to heaven at the age of 82 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on April 1, 1941 in Elmira, NY. \n\nRonald is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Nellie Jean Moore; daughter, Marjorie (George) Gilbert; son, Timothy Moore. Grandchildren, Christopher (Nichole) Gilbert, Julia Gilbert, Keith (Lia) Moore, Tara and Skyanne Moore; sister, Beverly Moore. Great-grandchildren; Devyn and Kamdyn Gilbert, Cayden Root, Ethan Meister, Jaxton Moshier and many extended family members and friends.\n\nRon received his GED from Southside High School. Ron worked for Hardinge Bros. for 44 years. He was a humble, hard-working, blue-collar man.\n\nRon was the patriarch of the family, who always had a smile on his face, uplifting attitude and was always concerned about others. Whenever something needed fixing, Ron could do it. Ron was an avid fitness buff; his Florida neighbors called him, "Arnold". You would always see him and his wife Jean walking in the morning and at night. Some of his favorite pastime activities were: going to his daughter and son-in-law's cottage at Seneca Lake and spending time with family and friends. We're fortunate to have so many fun memories of Ron. He will be greatly missed.\n\nFamily will receive relatives and friends to Sullivan's Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin Street at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 from 2pm - 4pm. Ron will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
