Sharon Ruth Mausteller \nHorseheads, NY. \nAfter a courageous battle with cancer went to be with the Lord on Friday March 18, 2022 at Strong Memorial Hospital Rochester, NY at the age of 78. She was born May 12, 1943 in Elmira, NY to the late Walter E. Bennett (1953) and Gladys R. (Cooper) Snell. Sharon worked as a nurse’s aide at Arnot Ogden and Elcor before becoming a home health aide for many years. She was a member of Full Gospel Church of Catlin, NY. She was previously a long time member of both Glad Tidings and Central Assembly of God Church. Sharon loved spending time with her family, enjoying a good laugh and a cup of coffee with her friends. She always loved telling a good story and about her time living in France in 1963. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her father Walter Bennett she is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth L. Mausteller (1995), and her step-father Torsten Hokan Snell (2017). In addition to her mother “Glady” of Horseheads, NY, Sharon is survived by her three children; Walter (Erin) Mausteller of Clarksville, TN, Michelle (Rebecca) Mausteller of Clifton Park, NY and Joseph (Chanta) Mausteller of Greensboro, NC; brothers, Paul (Sharon) Bennett, David (Linda) Bennett of Elmira, and Joseph (Barbara) Bennett of New Jersey; sister, Marilyn Hefner of Elmira; seven grandchildren Eric, Haley (Joe), Nijhal, Tionne, Makayla, Matthew, and Johnny; three great granddaughters Cassy, Lennox, and Skylar; several nieces, nephews, and cousins and special friend Bonnie Parsons. The family would also like to offer a special thank you to Linda Bennett for helping and supporting Sharon while battling cancer over the past several months.The family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan’s Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St.. at Rt 13, Horseheads, NY on Thursday March 24, 2022 from 4PM - 6PM. Sharon’s Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 25, 2022 at 10AM at the funeral home with burial services following at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Elmira, NY.
